Aerial Dance

Marina is a professional aerial artist with a unique style of effortless in her performances. The unusual grace and unmistakable presence of Marina’s aerial performances are the result of a distinctive integration of her multidisciplinary training in dance with her strong technical expertise in aerial acrobatics.

Marina’s breathtaking style has been a part of many well-known shows, from the KAura and Gamelan X concert in San Francisco and the Great American Circus in Manila, to regular performances as the featured act at On Broadway Showcase dinner theater, with guest appearances with the Wanderlust Circus.

Beginning with Mir & a Co in 2005, Marina quickly progressed to showings of “Place of No Escape” in the fall of 2005 and the Skydancers Festival in the fall of 2007. She enhanced her training with workshops with Deb and Jacques Bertrand in Colorado, with several teachers in Australia, and also in San Francisco. Throughout the years, Marina has trained in several types of aerial apparatus, including aerial silks or tissu, rope and harness, hammock, trapeze, flying trapeze, rotating aerial hoop, standard hoop, spanish web, corde lisse and uniquely custom metal apparatus. Marina naturally progressed to instructing others in the art and has taught classes and workshops since 2008 in the San Francisco Bay Area and Montreal.

Highly adaptable, Marina’s diverse aerial training history and dance background gives her the ability to perform in any artistic environment or style. In addition to performing with touring shows, Marina also specializes in exclusive solo performances for private functions, weddings, clubs or corporate events in both indoor or outdoor environments. Tailored to each event, she often creates new choreography specific to the client’s theme. Duets or group performances are also possible on special request.
